Identity
Are you questioning aspects of who you are? Or perhaps find difficulty in having much of a sense of yourself at all?
Identity
For some people, it can feel difficult to know who we are and how all of the parts of our identity come together. So much of how we think, feel and make decisions have a basis in who we are and if this doesn’t feel particularly solid, we can end up confused or muddled in the way that we interact with ourselves, others and the world around us. It can feel difficult to find places and groups where we feel like we belong.
Aspects of Identity I Work With
-
Do you struggle to have a sense of who you are as a person? This might feel like you don’t know yourself well and struggle to know how to respond in certain situations or you might struugle with identity at a more existential level (e.g., Do I Exist? Is this a dream? Am I the smae person I was a year ago? Two?).
These can be distressing thoughts that interfere with people's ability to lead their lives in the way that they wish to.

Whether you are questioning your sexual orientation, gender identity, relationship setup or you have come to a clear sense of this and are wondering what this means, therapy can be helpful in making some sense of all of this. I practice in an LGBTQ+ Affirming way and am a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself.

If you have recently retired, changed job roles, careers or find yourself unable to work, our professional identities can be a big part of who we are. When this changes or is lost in some way, we can start to question who we are within the context of our personal lives. If you are interested in addressing some of these wonderings, therapy can be a useful avenue to explore.

Whether you are diagnosed, self-diagnosed or question whether you may be neurodivergent (Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Sensory Processing Differences, etc.), these labels can have a profound impact on our perception of ourselves. For some, coming to this understanding is liberating and for others, more frightening or concerning. Whatever your reasons are for seeking therapy in relation to your neurodivergence, you are very welcome to be in touch.
